Welcome from the Headteacher
It is a huge privilege to be the Headteacher and current custodian of Huttoft Primary and Nursery School, carrying on the history of a school that started with its first Headteacher, Mr. Fearnside, in 1840. Last year Huttoft Primary School celebrates its 180 birthday!
Huttoft Primary and Nursery School is a nurturing learning community where children are treated as individuals. We prepare our pupils academically and emotionally for the wider world. We pride ourselves on the educational opportunities that we provide for our pupils, preparing them with the skills, knowledge and understanding that will help them to become successful in whatever pathway they take.
I am delighted that our recent Ofsted (February 2020) reported that the School has a nurturing and friendly atmosphere where pupils enjoy learning as it is these same qualities that I observed when I first walked through the doors of our school; the inspectors highlighted, ‘Pupils and their parents and carers like their school very much… Pupils behave well. Relationships are good. Pupils enjoy school. They act safely and think about the safety of others. Pupils told inspectors that staff are friendly and listen to any concerns’.
We have beautiful grounds and outdoor learning resources including a World War II outdoor space complete with an Anderson Shelter! We believe that children should enjoy learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
The information on our website will hopefully give you an understanding of our positive, family atmosphere and ambition centred curriculum. If you would like to arrange a visit to come in and see us and meet our wonderful school family please contact the school office.
See our school in the news too!
