Reception
Welcome to our class!
The Reception Team!
A big hello and a warm welcome from our YR class teacher, Mrs Peet and teaching assistant, Mrs Culley! We also welcome teaching assistants Miss Croney, Mrs Cabourn, Miss Whitham and Mrs Lowe throughout the week. Our teachers most important job is to ensure we are all safe and happy at school!
In Reception we have lots of fun learning through play! We spend ‘Discovery Time’ exploring, questioning and challenging the big world around us! Our phonics monsters are always on hand to help us learn new graphemes and their corresponding phonemes, which support our early reading and writing.

Recording our Learning
Each child in Reception has an online Learning Journey through Tapestry. This is where Maths learning and WOW moments are recorded and we love sharing photographs and comments with our parents and carers!
Throughout the year, in Reception, your child’s progress is measured based on our staff's knowledge of your child which can include the evidence in their Mark Making books and Learning Journey. We therefore encourage parents to contribute to their child's Tapestry to show us what their child has been doing and saying at home. If you would like some ideas of what to add or have any questions, we are happy to help!
